Platforms and possibilities: a scoping study of curriculum resources for global citizenship education

Abstract The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration Goal two argues for young Australians ‘to understand their responsibilities as global citizens’. In these precarious times, children and youth require (and are demanding) education on how to address the myriad of convergent challenges that is focus citizenship (GCE); however, perceived ambiguity recognised a barrier greater GCE uptake. To support teacher uptake education, we searched mapped open-access materials create systematic, research-based resource catalogue teachers students. We employed scoping study examine each resource’s alignments with Australian Curricula frameworks identified areas where there insufficient resourcing. Results showed most resources were targeted primary secondary school More needed early childhood well engage learners all ages en/act understanding what entails.
